Lucie Čechová

Rehabilitation Specialist

Lucie grew up surrounded by nature in a lovely village in South Czechia with her mum, two sisters, brother, a dog and a cat.

She fulfilled her dream of studying Sports and Exercise Therapy by moving to the UK, graduating with first-class honours from Solent University in 2024.

Her undergraduate research focused on the impact of hormone levels on female athletes’ performance and injury risks. This led her to pursue a master’s degree in Strength & Conditioning, where she aims to refine her skills and work with competitive athletes, combining research and hands-on experience.

Lucie was excited and honoured to begin her career within the Jonathan Clark Physiotherapy team, having previously completed her University placement at the clinic. Alongside her clinic work, she also works within the University with female basketball and rugby teams, as well as scholarship athletes, focusing on rehabilitation and strength & conditioning. With five years of experience in gym instructing and online personal training, she has developed a strong foundation in movement, strength, and injury mitigation.

In terms of Lucie’s motivation to become a Rehabilitation Specialist, this stemmed from a deep fascination with the human body and its incredible potential when functioning at its best. The ability to push limits, recover from setbacks, and optimize movement inspired a career dedicated to helping others achieve their highest self. Through physiotherapy, Lucie empowers individuals to regain strength and mobility, mitigate injuries, optimize performance, accelerate recovery and unlock their full physical and mental potential.

For Lucie, physiotherapy is more than just treating injuries. It’s about empowering people to take control of their health and well-being in every aspect of life. The never-ending learning, the trust and connection formed with each client, the process of uncovering the root causes of pain rather than just managing symptoms. and the opportunity to help people move better, feel stronger, and regain confidence in their bodies make her career truly fulfilling.

Question & Answer

I chose to work at JCP because I share the same values as Jonathan; the commitment to truly helping people and making a difference in their recovery and performance. The friendly and supportive work environment, along with the amazing facilities, made it an easy decision. After completing my placement here, I was fortunate to be offered a position, and I couldn’t be more excited to continue growing as part of this team.

I enjoy treating a wide range of sports-related injuries, especially those affecting the ankles, knees, hamstrings, calves, and shoulders. Tendinopathies, muscle imbalances, and biomechanical issues are also areas I like to focus on, along with common conditions like low back pain and rotator cuff injuries. What I love most is not just helping clients recover, but understanding why the issue happened in the first place and working together to prevent it from returning.

Outside of work, you’ll most likely find me running in the park, sprinting on the track, boxing, swimming, or lifting in the gym. I also love spending time at my favourite coffee shop working on rehabilitation and training programs, studying in the library, or at home creating and editing online content

Easy one, Harry Potter.

Italy, the fresh, delicious food, the stunning seaside, the warm and welcoming people, amazing coffee, and the rich traditions. But Thailand and Australia are the top of my bucket list now.
