Amara Dorey

Physiotherapist

Amara grew up in London, with her parents, sister, brother and dog.

She studied Physiotherapy at Southampton University, graduating in 2023.

Amara then went on to work in the NHS completing rotations in the community and in a MSK outpatient service. She then moved onto working in private practice at Jonathan Clark Physiotherapy in 2024.

In terms of her motivation to become a Physiotherapist, when Amara was young, she broke her arm, and during her own course of physiotherapy she watched a young girl learn how to walk again. From that moment, Amara’s curiosity about the profession grew. She then went into gymnastics and through this, experienced a lot of physiotherapy herself. It was at this point that Amara’s interest in the human body and helping people really started.

Amara loves working with clients to help them achieve their personal goals, to build confidence, to build independence with their body and life. She really loves watching her clients succeed throughout their rehabilitation.

Question & Answer

Amara chose to work at Jonathan Clark due the environment Jonathan has created for clients and for those who work here. It is a friendly, open and professional environment allowing us to work to our full potential helping people. This then results in clients getting the best treatment and seeing amazing results. The collaboration within the team allows us to have a personalised approach with clients.

Amara enjoys treating a wide range of conditions; however, she finds a particular interest in older adults. Helping them to regain independence and confidence, whether its by reducing pain, improving mobility, or simply boosting their sense of well-being. Otherwise, Amara finds her interest being with lower limb conditions as she finds there is a wider range for rehabilitation.

Outside of work, Amara likes to spend time going back to London to see friends and family and most importantly seeing her dog!

Amara mainly watches a crime documentary or series, if not Disney will definitely be on!

Most definitely the Caribbean!
