Jordan Anderson

Senior Physiotherapist

Jordan moved around the United Kingdom with his family growing up, due to his Father’s career in the Royal Air Force. He attended boarding school in Gloucestershire for his GCSE’s and A-Levels, and then eventually settled on the South Coast to find work and continue study.

Jordan had over a decade of experience working as a personal trainer, and strength and conditioning coach, before going on to study Physiotherapy at the University of Southampton, graduating in 2022 with 1st Class Honours.

Jordan joined Jonathan Clark Physiotherapy (JCP) in 2022 and quickly worked up to a Senior Physiotherapist position, responsible not only for his caseload but also mentoring many of the other Physiotherapists and Sports Therapist within the team.

He has a passion for learning and regularly partakes in continued professional development, attending courses and lectures to improve his practice, and develop the team whenever possible.

In terms of his motivation to become a Physiotherapist, Jordan’s interest in health, fitness and strength training was inspired from a sporting background at boarding school, and his mother’s work as a Pilates instructor.

This led to a career in personal training, initially with Nuffield Health, where he completed further training to work more with post-surgical clients, and referrals for gym-based rehab from the physiotherapy team.

This led to more time exposure to the field of Physiotherapy, where he fell in love with the profession, inspired by the challenge of mastering this interesting and challenging subject, and ultimately being able to offer a higher level of help and care to his clients.

Jordan really enjoys meeting new people, getting to understand their needs and building an effective therapeutic relationship. He is deeply rewarded by seeing his clients improve, overcome pain and problems, and reach their goals. His background in sport and strength coaching leads to some great outcomes with athletic people, although he loves working with all kinds of people and age groups. As a senior physio he also loves mentoring other clinicians and helping them to develop and thrive at JCP.

Question & Answer

Private practice and JCP specifically naturally felt like a great fit for me to utilise the skills I had already developed in my career. From the outset I was very impressed by Jonathan’s passion for helping people, the professional clinics and equipment, and friendly team within JCP.

I knew the large variety of presentations and types of people that come into JCP would be very interesting and challenge my knowledge. I love that I get the opportunity to help people with problems literally from head to toe, which encourages continued growth and means there’s never a dull day!

Due to further research and training I’ve become very fond of treating shoulders and have had some great outcomes, but I welcome all musculoskeletal complaints in my clinic.

Outside of work I rarely sit still! My sporting interests include running and hiking, strength training, cycling, climbing, golf and racquet sports, and skiing

When not playing sports, I enjoy working on my van and exploring the UK and Europe. I’m also a keen motorcyclist, enjoying touring and racing, both on and off road. I also enjoy watching live music and visiting the theatre with my wife, often paired with a pizza and glass of wine!

It really depends on my mood but enjoy comedies such as Anchorman, or classics like Gladiator or Shawshank Redemption.

My favourite type of holiday is either motorcycle tours or ski trips. The exact destination is less important, but this year I’m looking forward to visiting Bulgaria to Ski and touring Europe by bike, covering the pyrenes, alps, and black forest!
