Lower back pain is commonly recognised as pain, muscle tension, and/or stiffness that lies between the costal margin and inferior gluteal folds, with or without leg pain.

The Science
Your lower spine comprises of multiple facet joints and lumbar vertebra. Your symptoms might vary from being a dull throbbing ache to a sharp and shooting sensation.
If your pain is of sudden onset then it is considered to be “acute” but if it has persisted for 3 months or more, it is “chronic”.
There are 3 main causes of lower back pain: osteoarthritis, bulging or ruptured discs, or mechanical strain. Your therapist will assess you to determine the likely culprit and tailor your treatment program to address the cause.
