Are you experiencing severe neck pain after having had a road traffic accident?

Neck pain can present a huge bump in the road on the journey to recovery after a car accident.

Neck pain post-accident is also known as ‘whiplash’ or ‘whiplash associated disorders’. It describes the sudden to and fro of a persons head and neck that occurs during a collision.

At Jonathan Clark Physiotherapy, our team of experts will work tirelessly to get you back on track towards your destination, a pain-free lifestyle.

The Science

Rapid hyperextension and hyperflexion of the upper spine following a collision causes ‘whiplash’.

The sudden and direct impact causes a strain on muscles, joints, nerves, intervertebral discs and ligaments.

The soft tissues and joints are forced beyond their normal ranges which can result in increased muscle tension and inflammation.

Pain and stiffness are the most common symptoms of whiplash but you may also be experiencing headaches and or dizziness.

The Solution

Our team will provide a host of specific treatment options for short term pain relief as well as equip you with a tool belt of long-term management strategies to take with you into the future.

We have a variety of treatment options at our disposal to help us treat your whiplash including, mobilisation and manipulation, massage, ultrasound therapy and acupuncture.

We will provide you with a bespoke exercise program which will aim to reduce muscle tension, regain lost range and see you on your way to a full recovery.

Client Testimonial

“I had a course of physiotherapy following a car accident. Johnny was amazing and gave me an exercise program to assist with my recovery.
Since completing this I have been having regular sports massage with Rares for ongoing issues. He always listens each time to where I have pain and tailors the treatment accordingly.” ~ Teresa Ball
